Best in Show: Accessorie Circuit @ The Javits, NYC
August 2016: This summer's Accessorie Circuit show featured new and familiar names in jewelry, handbags, and other accessories, and many of them celebrated the spirited colors and themes of Spring 2017.
Handbag designers revisited the basics, without the familiar bells and whistles of seasons past, and gave special attention to fine craftsmanship, simple trims and hardware, and materials with integrity. In a volatile economy, designers are giving consumers more reasons to take a good look at investment pieces that are built to last.
In jewelry, a rekindled appetite towards natural materials and semi-precious stones was felt throughout the show. Bib silhouettes and Cleopatra-sized statement necklaces took a backseat this time, in favor of more tasteful, easy to wear pieces, that further blur the distinction between costume, bridge and fine jewelry.
Below are some of the brands and designers who personified this polished esthetic.
